HOW TO GET PROPER MINDSET FOR DIETING?

                BALANCED DIET MINDSET
                           ( DIETING )

When it comes to dieting, many people set themselves up for failure before they even start.  They are really afraid to go on a systematic diet. By doing so, they are actually planning accidents along the way before they even start the journey.  Sad to say but true that most people are planning their first Rocky Road accident while eating their last bowl of Rocky Road (the famous ice cream) before the big event.

I don't know why we do this to ourselves, but it's something I see in dieters everywhere.  There is a very popular belief that one should give up the most liked and tastiest foods before starting the dieting process as it is extremely essential to reduce unwanted weight.  If you are honest with yourself, nothing can be further from the truth.  Change is such a concept that we not only shy away from adopting but also panic.

For any diet to be successful, you need to change the way you think about food and your personal enjoyment of food.  Diet is not the enemy, but it is something that most people don't really understand.  Not even 'delicious' meals are bad but bad is your personal inability to properly divide and plan the foods you eat.  The problem is that most of us eat the wrong foods more often than we eat the right ones, and that's where the real problems lie.

By not consuming five servings of vegetables and three servings of fruits, our body needs additional nutrients.  Our body knows that something is missing so we feel hungry or deprived.  If we were actually consuming the proper balance of fruits and vegetables each day, we would find that we were much less likely to feel hungry and less likely to crave foods that were not as balanced and healthy.  This means that we are more likely to enjoy them in moderation and think that they should be enjoyed.

Weight control is another problem given that we live in that "up selling" society in which a gallon of our favorite cola along with super sized fries and net calories are offered free with almost every fast food meal, we have to avoid these things.  Learn to say no and avoid situations in which you may be tempted to such temptations.

To be really successful while dieting, you need to adopt a healthy process rather than depriving yourself of anything.  Don't treat your weight loss plan as a negative, but as a positive option to make changes in your life for the better.  When you have negative thoughts, don't add them to your diet.  When you feel satiated, remind yourself that you are protecting your body from that extra weight.  Remind yourself that you're ridding your wardrobe of bulky clothes designed to hide your fatness.  Remind yourself that you are ridding your body of years of obesity and bringing back the body of your youth.

Don't get so caught up in the dieting process that you forget to enjoy some of the good things life has to offer.  Taking care of your weight and counting your calories doesn't mean you can never go out of your way though we aim to find balance.  If you learn to divide your meals correctly, be in moderation, and enjoy calorie burning activities in your daily routine, you can get amazing results from it.

Dieting for weight loss and health can be considered successful only if you let it happen effortlessly.  If you force it, then you cannot control yourself, so avoid indulging in coercion in any case.  However, if you can learn to incorporate those small treats into your daily routine and burn off those extra calories, you'll find yourself feeling happier and a more successful 'dieter' than ever before. This is not only my staunch belief but a bet which I will win hundred out of hundred times.
