EXERCISE AND DIET FOR WEIGHT LOSS

          

  Obesity is now considered a worldwide epidemic especially in the health community.  In fact, it is soon going to be the leading cause of deaths than the deaths caused by smoking in the United States. Obesity increases the risk of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, brain stroke, and even cancer.  Our quality of life can be greatly improved if we try to reduce all of these health risks, and losing weight and proper diet are the best things we can do for this.

           

 It doesn't matter which method we use for it, because there is no other magical way to lose weight than proper diet, hard work ( exercise ) and determination.  The body will eliminate excess fat only if it requires more calories for any given day or for the activities we perform in that day than the amount of calories we feed to our body in the form of diet .  Therefore, to lose weight, we need to reduce the number of calories we eat, as well as, we must  increase the amount of burning the calories.

          

  We have a wide range of options to choose from when starting a weight loss program.  We all often take a lot of time to decide or understand that what should we eat?, in what quantity and even at what time or in what combination it should be eaten?  But most of us believe in the importance of exercise – not only for losing weight, but also for our general health and well-being.  Along with playing an important role in reducing weight, exercise also play a magnificent role in promoting our wellness.

           

  First, as we start eating less, our digestion will slow down a bit.  Exercising helps us get it back to an appropriate level.  Second, as mentioned, exercise burns more calories, which not only plays a role in our rapid weight loss, but also keeps us motivated while keeping us serious about the effort we are putting in.  It proves helpful because when we start getting positive results in the efforts we are doing , then it is natural to do so.  Third, exercise actually releases chemicals called endorphins, which help keep any enthusiasm high in our mind, and the urge to lose weight is one of them.

          

  Exercise never means spending hours in the gym or taking unnecessary stress on the body through exhausting workouts.  In fact, exercise needs to be the something which we must enjoy if we want to stay interested in it for a long time.  We can start doing it by increasing the level of our activities completely.  We must start using the stairs whenever necessary.  When we go for shopping then we must park away from the mall entrance .  Take a walk in the park or a neighborhood that we enjoy by taking a dog or friend with us, and if possible, we must start taking dance or martial arts classes.

          

  Once we become more active in general, it will become much easier and more natural for us to exercise regularly.  That's all we will eventually need to do to get regular effective health benefits and for this we  need to raise our heart rate to a level of fat burning and have to do it for at least 20 minutes, 3 times a week or more.  However, if we don't want to go to the gym, there are other options.  All types of exercises are now available in video and DVD.  In this way, we can make enough changes in our routine as needed so that our mind does not get bored with what we are doing.  Try doing a variety of aerobics, kickboxing, yoga, or any activity we want to do in the comfort of our own home.

     

  If we have physical constraints that prevent us from doing any type of exercise, we can still find a new way to increase our activity level.  Water aerobics is a great option for people who have joint problems or limited mobility because it takes the pressure off of our weight on our body.  But we still get the resistance to challenge our muscles in the water.  In addition, there are classes and videos available these days that teach how to exercise in a sitting position ?



  Whatever exercise we choose, it's also important to stay interested and keep it enjoying as a hobby.  Try to make it a social event by doing it in groups and get a pedometer or some device that can keep record of our walking by counting our daily steps , and see how many miles we can walk in a week.  Apart from this, organize competitions among friends or family members and especially honor the winner.  Try to do some exercise that we are ready for, it will soon become a regular part of our healthy lifestyle and if we supplement it with a balanced diet , then it will definitely prove as a icing on the cake.
